Tracking activity for the entire family with child friendly devices

Possibly the most impressive product to come out of CES this year isn’t even the most technical or advanced. But it does encourage health and fitness for families, getting children into keeping fit from a young age.

GeoPalz announced two new products; the iBitz PowerKey and iBitz Unity.

The PowerKey is a activity tacker, worn by all the family, while Unity is the app  for parents to keep track of activity levels, including; steps, distance, weight, height, overall physical activity and body mass index.

Unity will also connect with third party scales and heart rate monitors for further tracking.

This lets parents keep track of how much activity that not only they are doing, but also the kids. This is incredibly important in the UK where the number of overweight and obese children has increased over the past 30 years. In fact, in 2006, around one in six children aged between 2 and 15 were obese. (Source: BUPA)

You might be wondering how the kids get excited by all of this – sounds great for the parents but what is the incentive for the children? Well, that’s not been overlooked. If the children are active enough they will unlock fun games and apps to play with when they finally need to rest.

The iBitz range is available on Indiegogo here. Find out more on the company website here.
